• Recognition of the unconscious person and recovery position
• Airway maintenance in the unconscious person
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Control of bleeding, burns
• Fractures and other muscular skeletal injury
• Hypothermia and hyperthermia
• Poisons
• Eye injury
• Heart conditions
• Cerebral incidents- stroke, epilepsy, concussion
• Asthma and Diabetes
• Anaphylaxis and shock
• Casualty positioning
• Contents and care of first aid equipment

 
By the end of this course you will:
Be equipped with the skills, knowledge and attitude to manage an emergency medical situation. The course will ensure that the candidate can perform the basic life saving techniques required by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) certifying that competence is achieved. Delegates receive their own personal copy of a First Aid Handbook.
 
This course is open to all who require or would like to gain a First Aid at Work certificate with an HSE registered training organisation as a First Aider in the work place.
