the agency workers regulations

The Agency Workers Regulations have changed the shape of temporary staffing. The regulations came into force on 1st October 2011 and the aim is simple: to give temporary works equal treatment in the workplace.

Businesses and candidates need to understand the implications of both day one rights and the 12 week qualifying period, certain day one rights apply NOW. On completion of the 12 week qualifying period with a single hirer, temporary workers may be entitled to the same basic working and employment conditions as a permanent employee.
