This course is suitable for anyone:

• who needs to move and handle people as part of their role as a carer in the home

You will cover:

• Anatomy of the back and reasons for back pain and injury
• Base movement
• Risk assessment
• Moving a person from various positions, standing, walking, sitting in a chair to name a few
• Use of equipment, including wheelchairs
• Legislation

By the end of this course you will:

• Revisit the principles and priorities when moving and handling people/service users
• Recognise the need for personal safety and assessment of risk with the tasktherefore reducing injury
• Demonstrate how to effectively manage situations within the workplace.
