• Anatomy of the back and reasons for back pain and injury
• Base movement
• Risk assessment
• Moving a person from various positions, standing, walking, sitting in a chair to name a few
• Use of equipment, including wheelchairs
• Legislation

 
By the end of this course you will be able to:

• Understand the principles and priorities when moving and handling people/service users
• Recognise the need for personal safety and assessment of risk with the task therefore reducing injury
• Demonstrate how to effectively manage situations within the workplace
