A pharmacist from the Isle of Wight has been awarded the title 'Public Health Pharmacist of the Year' by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

According to Iwradio.co.uk, Kevin Noble was given the accolade after proving himself to be dedicated to the health and wellbeing of his entire community.

Mr Noble has worked tirelessly to improve each of the pharmacies located on the Isle and was also responsible for the introduction of island-wide immunisation services. His commitment may prove inspiration to others in pharmacy jobs.

The overjoyed pharmacist spoke to Iwcp.co.uk about being awarded the title, stating: "I am delighted to have received this recognition from my own professional body. It is always nice to be given the approval of your peers.

"I am very proud of what is an excellent network of community pharmacists on the island and am very privileged to work with such an enthusiastic group of healthcare professionals who deliver such high standards of service."

Thanks to Mr Noble's hard work, patients throughout the Isle are able to be screened for Chlamydia, request emergency contraception or get help with smoking cessation.

Furthermore, where services like NHS flu jabs, Hepatitis B and C vaccinations were previously not available, they are now; thanks to the pharmacist. Additionally, he has made HIV screening available for all.
