An MP has visited a therapy facility in Huntingdon, much to the delight of those working in physiotherapy jobs within the department.

MP Jonathan Djanogly visited the physiotherapy department provided by Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust on Monday, in a bid to help the Trust reach Foundation status; Woddhurst-Cambs.com reported.

CCS provides a range of services for residents throughout the area, including a children's specialist unit, baby care facility and services for older people and adults - such as the physiotherapy department.

Speaking to the Hunts Post, one of the CCS' clinical specialist physiotherapists, Amanda Phillips, spoke of how happy the whole team was to receive Djanogly's visit.

Phillips claimed: "We are delighted Mr Djanogly was able to visit our department. We were able to show him our face-to-face physiotherapy services, including the gym and treatment area at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, as well as our award-winning physio direct service."

"It was a great opportunity for staff to meet their local MP and talk about the innovative services we are developing to assist people with musculoskeletal problems."

Djanogly too enjoyed the visit, praising the work undertaken by the physiotherapy team: "Huntingdonshire residents are benefiting from the work the team has put into reviewing how services can be locally accessible to give the best-possible care."

Currently the CCS is in consultation to become a Foundation Trust; if it is successful in its goal, Trust members will have more financial freedom and increased ability to set their own priorities.
