Thanks to a grant from the Homes and Communities agency, Notting Hill Housing Trust can now deliver 2,310 new homes in London, reports Inside Housing.

A cool £58 million has been awarded to the trust, allowing the institution to deliver 1,244 affordable homes and a further 1,066 shared ownership units.

The investment could also signal the creation of an increased number of housing management jobs in the area after the HCA's £1.8 billion programme reaches its quarter way mark.

Almost £150 million worth of deals were announced this week "taking the total so far assigned to £450 million".

One of the other deals in the area was signed by Swan Housing Association, who were awarded £38.7 million allowing for the construction of 1,286 homes in London and 214 in the South East.

Other landlords who signed deals include Hastoe Housing Association, Paradigm Housing Group, the Quantum Consortium led by East Midlands Housing Association, Raglan Housing Association and Wakefield and District Association.

Construction Enquirer reports that Mark Thompson, deputy chief executive of Swan Housing Executive, was very pleased with the deal: "Of the 1,500 units funded as part of this scheme, around 1,000 are on firm schemes where we are either on site already or own the land.

"This means that our programme looks healthy and deliverable," he added.
