David Walliams, the well-known face who recently swam the River Thames for Sport Relief, has admitted he is working with professionals in physiotherapy jobs to overcome his back pain.

According to Contactmusic.com, the 'Little Britain' star is in immense pain after his 140-mile swim.

His spokesperson confirmed the news in the Daily Telegraph, stating: "He [Walliams] tore one of his discs as a result of his swim and is now out of hospital, but he is undergoing physio and has had to cancel some appointments."

Working with the physiotherapists should help Walliams regain full use of his back and hopefully, get rid of any reduced function in his legs, which close friend Whitney Sudler-Smith revealed the actor had been suffering from.

"The poor guy can't walk and is stuck in hospital," Sudler-Smith told the press before Walliams was released. "He had a terrible back spasm."

Bupa.co.uk gave an insight into what Walliams could expect to be doing during his sessions with physiotherapists. It explained that the physiotherapists will work with the star to improve his mobility and movement.

Furthermore, through his treatment he could expect "exercises, posture advice, massage and techniques known as spinal mobilisation and spinal manipulation." This treatment could last anywhere up to 12 weeks, it added.
