The site of a former pub in Staffordshire is to be redeveloped in to a new care home which will create up to 50 domiciliary care jobs once completed.

This is Staffordshire reports that Ideal Care Homes are already recruiting for positions ahead of the opening of its new development at The Cedars in Leek New Road, Sneyd Green. The new care home has been built on the site of the Holden Bridge Pub, which closed in 2007.

When it opens later this year it will provide 42 en-suite bedrooms for dementia sufferers. Each room will come equipped with touch-operated lamps suitable for elderly residents, as well as amenities such as a flat screen TV, a DVD player, a mini-fridge and telephone and internet facilities.

Ideal Care Homes is advertising for a range of positions in domiciliary care ahead of the opening, including both senior and standard residential support worker jobs as well as night care managers, laundry assistants, kitchen managers, cooks, receptionists and caretakers.

The North Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the new job opportunities created in the area. Chief executive Bryan Carnes said: "They are offering something across a broad range that will see experienced people and younger workers given an opportunity in the work place. They will hopefully provide the opportunity for younger people to receive training and also opportunities for those who have been out of work for some time."
