A new three-bed affordable house for the social housing sector has been unveiled, reports 24 Dash.

Those in supported housing jobs will be interested to learn the £57,000 property comes with finished interiors, bathrooms and kitchens, achieving level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. It also offers low heating costs, says Powerwall - the firm behind the new scheme.

However, the slight down side is the £57,000 price tag does not include land and foundation costs.

On the other hand, the firm have stated the life expectancy for such a house is 200 years and will have a "design life" of 60 years.

Other benefits include 71 per cent reduced carbon emissions and up to 67 per cent less energy consumption.

Dominic Tedesco, managing director of Powerwall, hails the modern but affordable home: "We have managed to reduce the building costs through the application of our unique Volumetric modular building system and the use of the latest hi-tech building materials.
